With this in mind, nearly 30 years ago I watched many of the people around me who would share a lesson and then put an activity with it that just made sense. They made it look easy. It was fluid, it was engaging, it was fun. It drove home the lesson, the point, the heart of the content. It reinforced key takeaways for the participants. I was in awe.
And when I started leading sessions myself, I can remember looking through idea books – remember those? I’d be searching for the perfect activity, the perfect idea that would spark additional conversation, additional questions.
The goal was to make the learning experience fun, make it engaging. I hoped to get people involved mentally, physically, emotionally in a way that made the content more impactful. Unforgettable even.
